DORSET Chamber of Commerce and Industry will next week host an inward trade mission from Blount County, Tennessee.

DCCI has long had close links with Tennessee - at least 75 per cent of the major markets in the US are within one day's drive of the state.

Delegates from Tennessee will be visiting three UK chambers with DCCI designated as a strategic partner for Dorset/Tennessee trade.

"The visit will give Dorset companies a unique opportunity to make contact with member companies from two of the leading chambers in the USA," said DCCI's Elaine Walker.

"We will be following up on their visit with an outward mission taking Dorset companies out to Tennessee."

Exporters from Dorset will be jetting out to Tennessee on June 8. DCCI has built on its Blount County links by forging a new connection with the Nashville Chamber of Commerce.

DCCI has gained "invaluable sponsorship" from the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Economic Partnership to enable chamber officials to work with local businesses to improve on their international strategies and visit overseas markets.

"We are pleased to be able to offer Dorset companies who take part in the mission to Tennessee, match-funding of up to £1,000 per company towards travel and accommodation."

Any companies interested in meeting with the group or visiting Tennessee in June should contact Elaine Walker at DCCI on 01202 448806 or e-mail her at (elaine.walker@dcci.co.uk).
