SIX students have proved top of the class at a Weymouth school.
Two Year 10 pupils at Wey Valley School, off the Dorchester Road, have been named head boy and girl after impressing a panel of judges, with four named as their deputies for the coming year.
Gary Patterson and Emma Bidell will be acting as ambassadors for the Broadwey school over the next 12 months with their duties including attending the annual mayor-making ceremony.
Named as deputies were Carl Hillier, Matthew Griffiths, Maxine Skinner and Alex Holt.
Headteacher Marcia Headon said: "Pupils had to write a full letter of application and attend an interview where they were asked a number of questions including what their perceptions of the post were and what role they will have to play over the coming year."
