POLICE are treating a fire that left a mobile home at Broadmayne in ashes as arson.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the blaze to come forward.
Fire crews took two hours to extinguish the flames, which neighbours said reached 70 feet into the air, burning out telephone lines above the home and damaging fir trees behind the site.
Nearby residents believe they may have heard the attackers approach the site in Knighton Lane shortly before the blaze broke out early on Sunday.
Forensic officers combed the scene and have removed evidence for investigation.
Police said the dwelling was empty at the time and nobody was injured in the blaze.
Anyone with information about the suspected attack is asked to call Dorchester police on (01305) 251212.
