Dorchester Ladies Football Club - who are soon to officially change their name to Dorchester Town following their
link-up with the Magpies - are looking for a new manager/coach to lead them next season.
It follows the decision of player-manager Annabel Whalley, who led the
club to promotion to the South West Premier Division after finishing third in South West One last season, to stand down.
She and husband Dave Whalley, the Portland and
former Dorchester and Weymouth midfielder, are expecting their first child in November and she plans to take a season out before returning to the game.
But the Dorset Ladies defender says she also believes it is time the
ambitious club sought "more professional leadership" if they are to continue the
significant progress they have in recent years.
"We have made big strides on the field and next season we will be coming up against well-organised sides like Exeter City and Torbay. We also have a fast-growing junior section with a lot of young players coming through in our Under-10, 12, 14, and 16 sides.
"But our first team is now at a level where they need someone with more
experience of management and coaching to take them
on.
"If there is anyone out there who fancies the job we will be delighted to hear from them.
"Anyone who wants to find out what the job entails can contact me on Dorchester 267545."
