POLICE are investigating after the discovery of a woman's body in Wimborne.
The body was found at 5.30am today at a house on the corner of East Borough and West Borough in the town centre.
Officers led by Detective Chief Inspector Neil Redstone have confirmed they are treating the death as suspicious.
The house and surrounding area, which lies on a busy route into the town, was immediately sealed off with police tape while forensic teams painstakingly searched for clues.
Around half a dozen police cars were also at the scene with officers directing traffic and people away from the area.
Children travelling to school and commuters on route to work witnessed detectives in protective clothing videoing the pavement and outside of the house while neighbours looked on.
Police were refusing to release any details about the case this morning including who raised the alarm or where in the house the woman was found.
A spokesman at the scene said: "It's too early to say anything for definite.
"There are still people to be informed and we are still making our initial inquiries."
