FOOTBALL-FRIENDLY teachers at a Bournemouth primary school are screening a crucial early morning World Cup match for pupils.
Children and parents have been invited to take a packed breakfast and head for the school hall - at 7.15am!
Staff at St Katharine's hope the treat will avoid unnecessary absence or late arrival on the day.
A big screen will be erected for England's third match against Nigeria on Wednesday, June 12. The match is due to finish at 9.15am and pupils should usually be at their desks by 8.55am.
"In an attempt to ensure that a sudden illness does not strike down hordes of St Katharine's children on that day, we propose to open the school at 7.15am for children and parents so they can watch the game" said deputy head Andrew Booth.
"This is a genuine attempt to avoid unnecessary absence or late arrival."
Hundreds of pupils are expected to take up the offer and the teachers behind the idea are certain to go up in their estimation.
