ARGYLL confirmed themselves as serious title contenders with a whitewash of reigning champions Poole Park.
The 42-31 triumph gave Argyll their fourth win from as many matches this season and sits them proudly on top of the table as the A League's only unbeaten side.
Jean Revell, Nora Morgan, Rita Dunbar and Joan Halliwell (24-16) overcame Poole Park's Joan Eales while Audrey Walden, Peggy Budd, Bobby Thomson and Jo Coombes outgunned Doris Sheppard 18-15 to clinch Argyll's third successive six-pointer.
Previous pacemakers Pelhams suffered their first defeat 6-0 (42-27) to a resurgent Richmond Park.
Monica Niemier, Linda Johnson, Lynda Gorf and Muriel Groves (23-10) led the victory parade against Audrey Judge with support from Sue Dillon, Ann Devine, Shirley Field and Sheila Plomer who pipped Mary Watts 19-17.
Redhill Park chalked up a 6-0 (37-27) victory over West Moors Memorial I - but only after Jean Dixon, Pauline Wiseman, Ethel Hanlon and Pat Horgan had hung on for a 19-18 verdict after leading Olive Freeman's rink 16-9. Jean Beedie, Margaret Pittwood, Barbara Roff and Jill Bryant (18-9) made sure there were no palpitations in the other contest.
Wimborne's flying start to the B League campaign was jolted in a 6-0 (44-28) reverse at Broadstone who showed they had fully recovered from their drubbing at Lymington.
Vanessa Smyth, Carole Bamford, Vicki Miller and Anne Williams (24-11) headed the Broadstone effort against Lorna Foreman and were backed by Shirley Bailey, Beryl Styles, Ann Stewart and Sylvia Edgson (20-17).
It is a four-way split at the top with Lymington in pole position on shots difference.
The Foresters triumphed 4-2 (44-30) at Southbourne thanks to Patsy Little, Sandy Nailard, Janice Smith and Kay Richardson whose 27-12 dazzler outweighed the 18-17 defeat suffered by Jenny Ollis, Hazel Ford, Jean Burchell and Angela El-dridge against Mary Burkin.
Kings Park silenced Ringwood 6-0 (39-30) with Isabel Du Cros, June Wright, Pauline Harris and Beryl Nuttall (20-14) and Chris Bennett, Jean Tricksey, Brenda Vaughan and Isabella McCafferty (19-16) coming up trumps.
Dorothy Bond, Mary Lawrence, Doreen Risso and Joan Bryant (24-6) hit peak form in Brockenhurst's 4-2 (44-28) C League win against Argyll who snatched two points when Norma Ritchens (22-20) scored two shots on the last end to foil Frances Gadsby, Flora Goddard, Jean Lees and Peggy Walker.
New Milton had a day to remember with all four of the club's sides triumphant. Joyce Wicks, Doris Edwards, Eve Benson and Chris Edmonds (23-12) and Judy Busby, Flora Miller, Joan Craggs and Sheila Nicoll (21-18) guaranteed the C League six-pointer (44-30) against Highcliffe.
A rousing finish of nine shots from the final three ends carried Daphne Locke, Anne Wrighton, Loraine Pizey and Barbara Brown to a clear-cut 27-17 result over Eileen Deadman as Ferndown tamed Richmond Park 6-0 (44-30) in the D League.
Daphne Whittle, Emma Floyd, Margaret Roberts and Kath Fisher (17-13 against Jean Cumming) were Ferndown's other heroines.
B League leaders Lymington are also the D League trailblazers after Gillian Smith, Margaret Burt, Pat Marchant and Jeanne Calcutt (34-11) and Jenny Lawford, Joan Savin, Janet Smith and Joyce Brackstone (24-15) pointed them to a 6-0 (58-26) eclipse of Poole Park.
Although the overall shots margin was just two, that was still sufficient for Christchurch to bag all six E League points (37-35) at Broadstone.
Dorrie Ridgewick, Brenda Chaffey, Ruby King and Mary Poore (18-17) and Margaret Crisp, Mavis Williams, Doreen Fisher and Marilyn Weigh (19-18) did the trick despite both dropping last-end threes.
Another low-scoring affair saw Argyll's F Leaguers capture a maximum (36-29) at Verwood with Beryl Sadler, Jean Gatrill, June Cartwright and Joan Anthony (17-13) and Margaret Crossland, Doris Rathbone, June Finn and Joan Webb (19-16) their star performers.
Not even the last-minute loss of a bowler could prevent Lymington from gaining a 4-2 (39-38) G League victory over Highcliffe.
Despite their 25-per-cent shots penalty for being a player short, Jean Daniells, Priscilla Rees and Joyce Coe still triumphed 24-18 to win the game overall.
