STAR WARS: EPISODE II ATTACK OF THE CLONES (PG)

This stunning sequel sees Anakin Skywalker start to become the evil Darth Vader. Set 10 years after Phantom Menace, Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is now the gifted apprentice of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). After an attempt on Senator Padme Amidala's (Natalie Portman) life, Obi-Wan and Anakin protect her. While the Jedi master hunts the assassin, Anakin remains by her side and falls in love, something forbidden by Jedi rules. Meanwhile, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) is given powers to create an army to help the Jedi overthrow a separatist movement led by exiled Jedi Count Dooku (Christopher Lee). Christensen is excellent as the hero in conflict and he shares electric chemistry with Portman. The awesome action scenes will delight.

ABOUT A BOY (12)

SUCCESSFUL film adaptation of Nick Hornby's best-selling novel, striking a delicate balance between comedy and tragedy. Hugh Grant plays 38-year-old slacker Will Lightman, who decides single-parent help groups might provide dates. His scheme goes awry when he charms suicidal hippy mother Fiona (Toni Collette) and accepts the role of surrogate father to her 12-year-old son Marcus (Nicholas Hoult). Grant copes effortlessly with the humour and brings warmth to his hapless hero. Collette is heart-breaking in her role and Hoult is terrific. Great entertainment with a big, big heart.

NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE (15) Unfortunately, it is.
