A DORCHESTER photographer has scooped a national award after members of the public voted him the best portrait snapper in the country.
Greg Cameron Day, who has run his five star-rated Durngate Street studio for 25 years, has been named Fujifilm Light-portraiture Photographer of The Year after producing 'stunning' images which captured the true personality of his subjects, says the chairman of the awards scheme.
The title is Mr Cameron Day's third national award - he has also scooped Master Wedding Photographer of the Year, Master Child Photographer of the Year and the UK Kodak Pet Photographer of the Year.
Mr Cameron Day, who is a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and an associate of the Master Photographers' Association, said: "The winners in these awards are chosen by the public, which makes winning even more gratifying."
Roger Harvey, chairman of the Fujifilm Lightportraiture Group, said: "Greg was the clear winner. He has produced some stunning images in every category and his work is setting standards for every professional portrait photographer in the country to follow."
