BEAMINSTER will be aiming to extend their unbeaten start to the season when they meet Wayfarers at the Memorial Playing Field tomorrow.
A successful first month of the season has swept them to the top of Division One, a position they share with Blandford who have an identical average.
The Ferndown team were one of the leading sides in the division last season, which they finished one position above fourth-placed Beaminster.
The match at the Memorial Playing Field last June ended in a 94-run victory for the home side, but when Beaminster travelled to East Dorset for the return game they went down to a heavy 176-run defeat. This season Wayfarers have made a modest start and are in the lower half of the table with just one win from four games.
Skipper Ian Hutchings recalled: "The defeat against them last year was the last game of the season and was a match in which many people were not interested. There was nothing to play for. But we should be looking to beat them tomorrow."
Nick David returns to the Beaminster side to take the batting place of Chris Park, who has injured an ankle. The only other Beaminster change sees Paul Martin drafted into the attack for Matt Hansford, who has to work.
