Portland Red Triangle travel to the Delph tomorrow to play Broadstone in the Premier Division, hoping for a good result to kick start their season back into top gear.

Three successive defeats have left the islanders rooted at the bottom of the table and a win against a Broadstone side who have themselves only tasted victory once would greatly improve matters.

The Poole-based side began their season with a narrow defeat at Redlands, before gaining a convincing success against Poole, who beat Triangle last week. Their most recent game resulted in a rain-interrupted loss at Wimborne, where they did manage to score 240.

Triangle rely on the same eleven players who played against Poole and skipper Martin Hewson is hoping the tide will turn for his team. "We are playing ourselves into good positions," he said. "But are then unable to keep the momentum going. We really should have scored more runs against Poole but they fought back well over the final 15 overs.

"We gave ourselves a chance by grabbing three early wickets, but we couldn't get another breakthrough, which could have made all the difference. Not only are we losing, but also we are not gaining many bonus points from the games which means we are falling behind the other teams. Still, there is a long way to go, and a win tomorrow would certainly give us a much needed boost."
