A TODDLER fatally injured in Blandford has been named.
Two-year-old Ryan Franklin-Khair died two days after he was found injured in a terraced house in Sheepmarket Hill in the town centre.
Detectives have launched an investigation into how the youngster suffered his serious head injuries.
Police said a man arrested in connection with the death had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The Echo revealed earlier this week how paramedics were called to the house at 6.30am on Monday and alerted police.
Ryan was taken initially to Poole Hospital but later transferred to Southampton Hospital's neurological unit for specialist treatment but staff were unable to save him. He died on Wednesday night.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Stanger is heading the investigation which police say could take several weeks.
He said: "This is a tragedy that is being fully investigated and we are keeping an open mind."
And he added: "We are awaiting the results of medical tests which, in addition to police enquiries, may help us to establish more detail regarding Ryan's death."
