A SPECTACULAR stunt show full of crashes, bangs and wallops was one of the many events which kept carnival-goers in Verwood entertained on Jubilee Monday.
Fire and explosions shook the main arena in the carnival field off Crane Drive as skilled car drivers and motorcyclists performed breath-taking displays.
The event was the highlight of this year's carnival for many spectators.
Participants in the procession - including local schoolchildren, members of the rugby club and businesses - braved showers in the morning as they prepared for the parade.
And despite a downpour just as they set off, organisers say the turnout was impressive.
Derek Alford, chairman of Verwood's carnival committee, said: "We were worried about the weather, especially when it started to rain just as the procession was setting off.
"But a lot of people turned out and many have said it was one of the best processions. It was very well supported.
"The car and motorcycle stunt display really was quite spectacular."
A fun fair and host of charity stalls, along with live broadcasts from local radio station Verwood FM also kept visitors entertained.
Mr Alford added: "It really was a good turnout. It was on a par with last year which was a record-breaker for us."
