DINERS in Weymouth can now contemplate a stunning view of Weymouth Bay from a new restaurant.
The Sea Palace Chinese Restaurant, in the refurbished Pier Bandstand, was officially opened this week by former South Dorset MP Ian Bruce, husband of the current Weymouth and Portland mayor, Hazel Bruce.
The Pier Bandstand building, created in Art Deco style, is all that remains of Weymouth's old pleasure pier, demolished in 1985. Owner Peter Bennett, of Broadwey Motors, who has renovated it, says he wants ultimately to build out to sea again, to create a new pier.
The restaurant includes three function rooms and features full Chinese decoration throughout. It is managed by Jason Yuan and Tom Li.
