A MAN has been arrested by police investigating the murder of Poole masseuse Angela Chiu.
Exactly a week after her body was discovered in her millionaire home in Canford Cliffs detectives revealed they were holding a man in his 30s in connection with the crime.
"Detectives investigating the murder of the 48-year-old Poole health therapist have arrested a man in his 30s. He is being interviewed by detectives," said a police spokesman.
"Forensic work is still being carried out at Angela's home in Haven Road and the search work at the property will continue.
"Dorset Police cannot comment further and is not releasing any further details at this time."
The suspect has not yet been charged.
During the past week police remained tight-lipped about lines of inquiry and the progress of the investigation, which also saw crime officers visit the nearby St Ann's mental health hospital.
Since the murder investigation started the area has seen an influx of journalists from the national press and broadcast media, all seeking to report on the investigation. Their numbers were swollen this weekend with the arrival of reporters from the Sunday newspapers.
Mrs Chiu, 48, was found by her daughter Daniella, 18, stabbed to death in the bathroom of her home on August 1.
The family of Mrs Chiu, a trained masseuse, have appealed for the public to help find her killer, and anyone with information about the killing should call Dorset Police on 01202 222500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
