HOTSHOT Richard Gillespie hit two for the second week running as Bashley humbled last season's Dr Martens Eastern Division champions Dorchester with a 3-0 win.

Having hammered a brace in the 6-0 drubbing of Portland seven days' earlier, the teenage terror struck twice in the second-half to help Bash to arguably their most satisfying victory of the pre-season.

It took Bash only eight minutes to go in front when a long ball forward from Dave Wakefield was inexplicably fumbled by visiting keeper Mark Ormerod, leaving Craig Davis with the simple task of tapping into the empty net.

For the visitors, Michael Walker strode forward before dragging his shot wide of the near post although Walker then almost headed into his own net, looping the ball over Ormerod but wide of the far post.

After a good spell from Bash, a corner from Aaron Cook was headed over by Mark Jones at the far post while at the other end a brilliant challenge from Cook denied Matt Tubbs as he burst into the box.

Immediately after the break Walker twice went close, shooting wide and then heading past the post from a corner but for all the visitors' possession, Dorch were punished on 67 minutes when Davis crossed for sub Gillespie to cleverly hook the ball beyond Ormerod.

And with six minutes remaining Fraser Quirke laid the ball off to Dave Wakefield whose aerial pass allowed Gillespie to lift delightful 25-yard lob over Ormerod.

Bashley: Elm, Connolly, Culliford, Cherrett (Egan, 71), Mark Jones (Gazzard, 46), Cook, Wakefield, Davis, Gibbons (Quirke, 75), Wallis (Gillespie, 62), Gee. Unused subs: Simon Arthur, Mat Jones.
