HERRISON Youth's Stephen Oliver took advantage of the gaps in the field of six-man Bovington Engineers to score the first century of the season in their Dorchester Evening League Division Three clash.
Two wins in a week for the Herrison side, they also polished off Post Office in a somewhat more evenly contested game, put them into a play-off with Cerne Valley for the top spot in their league.
This will take place at Puddletown Rec on Tuesday, August 12.
Oliver belted an undefeated 118 against Bovington as his side piled up 233-4 and Bovington's depleted side were all out in the 11th over.
HERRISON YOUTH 233-4 (Steven Oliver 118no, Richard Cole 46, Matt Lee 35, Kevin Smith 2-38) bt BOVINGTON ENGINEERS 50-5 (Ryan Phillips 20, Stephen Dennis 16, Oliver Foot 3-6).
Herrison went joint first when they put on another big total which left Post Office needing at least eight an over. The Posties never threatened it how-ever and were all out in the last over still requiring 68 runs.

Mowers found runs difficult to get on their own pitch against the bowling of Puddletown's Dan Belt and Matt Chalmers. Their total of 77-8 proved no obstacle for their opponents who took only 13.3 overs to gain victory.
PUDDLETOWN 78-2 (Phil Barter 37no, Dan Belt 27, Tom Hewish 10, Bill Trevett 1-29) bt MORETON MOWERS 77-8 (Dean Smy 22, Chris Hawkins 16, Steve Lucas 12, Matt Chalmers 3-21, Dan Belt 3-23).

Martinstown thought they had just done enough to claim only their second win of the season when they set a target of six an over. But an unbroken partnership between Bere's Tom Bennett and Russell Hewitt which put on 75 runs, was their downfall.
