PROMOTOR Brian White has been given the all clear to start Speedway racing at the Wessex Stadium.
The new Weymouth Wildcats track yesterday passed its final safety inspection which was carried out by representatives from the sport's governing body, the British Speedway Promoters Association (BSPA).
White said: "Two BSPA inspectors came down yesterday and tested everything from the track surface to the fencing, PA
system and car parking arrangements. I'm delighted to say they were happy with what they saw and the track has been passed fit for
racing.
"What they've done is drawn up a list of minor alterations and changes that need to be made although there's nothing of consequence on it.
"Subject to those simple tasks being completed, the venue is ready for action."
Having received the thumbs up from the BSPA, White and his team are now busy preparing for the stadium opening on Friday night.
Former Wildcats legend Martin Yeates has been invited to officially open the track following which the Wessex Rosebowl Individual meeting takes place (tapes up 7.30pm).
