POLICE working on the Chohan murder case say there has been a recent sighting of the Bournemouth man they still want to question.

William Horncy, who also uses the name Smith, was spotted at a camp site near Durbuy in the Ardennes region of south-east Belgium on Sunday, August 3. Belgian authorities believe he may still be in the area.

Scotland Yard detectives are keen to interview Mr Horncy over the disappearance of the Chohan family from their home in Heston, West London, on February 16.

The badly decomposed body of Asian businessman Amarjit Chohan, 46, was recovered from the sea near Bournemouth Pier on April 22.

His 25-year-old wife Nancy's remains were trawled up in Poole Bay on July 15.

Despite extensive sea searches, the couple's two baby sons, Devinder, 19 months, Ravinder, four months, and Mrs Chohan's mother, 51-year-old Charanjit Kaur, are still missing.

The police are appealing to anyone who has recently holidayed in the Ardennes, especially those visiting campsites in the Durbuy area, to think about whether they might have seen 51-year-old Mr Horncy.

He is described as 5ft 11ins tall and stockily built with blue eyes.

Mr Horncy is known to have travelled to France by ferry with Ken Regan, 54, on April 30. Truck driver Mr Regan, from the Salisbury area, was arrested in Belgium on August 2 and is awaiting extradition proceedings.

Anyone with information about Mr Horncy is asked to contact the incident room in 020 8247 7821 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Peter Rees, 38, of Rowlands Castle, in East Hampshire, has been charged with murdering all five members of the Chohan family and preventing the burial of Mr Chohan's body.
