SIXTY-ONE visitors joined 22 home boats for the Lyme Regatta.
With the Phantoms and Contenders racing their own series, Albacores and 505s dominated the championship fleet, getting in early practice for the forthcoming world and national championships to be hosted at Lyme.
No racing was possible on the Saturday and the fleet welcomed the return of the wind on Sunday.
The fleet started in a shaky force three with early leaders Herbert and Penfold in their Albacore and Napier and Bristow's 505 both being on course side.
The early stages of the race were dominated by the 14 of Mark Waters and Will Broom, until a costly swim put them out of the race.
The 505s of Walters and Hunt and Williams and Edmonds continued to battle for the lead, with Walters crossing the line first.
Thanks to the large number of entries, Lyme Regis Sailing Club presented a cheque for £250 to the regatta and carnival committee to help local charities.
Results: 1 505 Ealters and Hunt (LRSC); 2 505 Williams and Edmonds (Portishead); 2 Laser 4000 Tyler and Tyler (LRSC); 4 505 Turnball and Lunn (Burton); 5 14 Waters and Brown (LRSC).
