TERRAS players will enjoy luxury usually received only by Premiership stars in the build up to Saturday's league opener at Hednesford Town.
In a bid to be at their sharpest, Weymouth will stay in a luxury hotel in the Midlands ahead of the Dr Martens Premier Division clash.
And boss Steve Claridge has also called on a few favours
from one of his old
clubs, Birmingham City, to
allow the Terras to use
the Blues' state of the art
training facilities without charge.
Claridge explained: "Hednesford is one of the longest trips and the journey is bad enough at the best of times, let alone on a busy and hot Saturday morning in August.
"A lot of the players will have to travel quite a few miles before even getting on the team coach meaning the squad would probably be drained even by the time we got to Hednesford.
"The idea of staying in a hotel near to the ground is something all the top teams do because it means everyone is at their freshest.
"By the time kick off comes, there'll certainly be no excuses about the preparation.
"Travelling tomorrow will also be good for team spirit."
Weymouth set off for the Midlands tomorrow morning and will stay at a hotel in the West Bromwich area.
But Claridge said the trip would not be a case of all rest and no work.
"I know quite a few people at Birmingham City and we're due to hold a training session using their facilities which is very kind of them. If we don't go there we may use West Bromwich Albion and it'll be great for the lads to train using some top facilities."
Meanwhile, the player boss has rounded off his summer acquisitions by signing Jamie Impey, Kevin Gill and Leon Green to contracts with the club.
Former Forest Green Rovers defender Impey and midfielder Green were both with the Terras last season under previous manager Geoff Butle while Gill was at Lymington.
Claridge said: "I'm really happy with the squad now and Jamie, Leon and Kevin all did well over pre-season and fully deserved contracts. Now it is up to them to continue working hard and earn themselves a starting place."
