FANCY a stroll through the solar system without having to lift a foot off planet earth?
An amazing new maize maze at Holme Nurseries near Wareham takes in all the major planets and there is even a chance for a quick pitstop on the sun.
The solar design was dreamed up by Stoborough First School pupil Jadine Islip whose efforts won £100 for her school.
Jadine, nine, was also presented with a bag load of goodies after winning a maze design competition which attracted 90 entries from local schoolchildren.
Maze explorers can tackle a solar quiz by seeking out the answers on planetary information boards dotted about the maze.
Jadine said: "I just enjoy drawing and thought about the planets for my design."
The two-acre field of maize will be open to the public until September 14 and in October the crop will be cut down and eaten by cattle on a neighbouring farm.
Simon Goldsack, who runs Holme Nurseries with his wife Liz, said: "Jadine's Design was unusual and inspired.
"Our maize cutters used her original drawing as a template and the result is a challenging, fun maize maze. We are sure that everyone who visits will have a great time."
