A THREE-day music festival, including an outdoor dance event, hopes to attract thousands of people to Poole's newest events arena.
The Versus Music Festival at the Canford Park Arena will consist of three separate music events each designed to appeal to a different audience.
On September 12 there will be a Decades of Pop concert, featuring Gerry Marsden, Brian Poole, The Nolans and Mike D'Abo from Manfred Mann.
The next night will be orientated towards dance music with top DJs from some of Bournemouth and London's most popular nights and venues going head to head in eight hours of non-stop music.
And the festival will end on the Sunday with Creation - a dance event for under-18s.
No residents have objected to the plans and Consumer Protection officers at the Borough of Poole are set to give the event the go-ahead.
Merley and Bearwood ward councillor Leo Belcham said residents had adopted a wait-and- see attitude and would be monitoring the noise and traffic situation over the three-day event.
"I've come across a certain amount of concern over the fact that on the second and third day, there will be music coming form half a dozen marquees."
Ted Bleszynski, of Woodland Manor Estates who manage the arena, said: "I think people are probably being quite sensible and waiting for it to happen.
"We've tried to cover everything about noise attenuation and traffic etc and we're pleased we have a chance to dem-onstrate how the site works."
