FLORAL art was exceptional at this year's Radipole and Southill summer show despite the recent dry weather.
The Radipole and Southill Horticultural Society's 39th Annual Summer Show saw more visitors than expected said show secretary Jean Turner.
She said: "We didn't think it would be very busy due to the nice weather, but especially in the afternoon people came to visit.
"The entries for floral art were exceptional and the roses of the best overall winner were just perfect, there was no other word for it."
She said that the Mayor and Mayoress kindly gave out the cups and trophies at the end of the show. Mrs Doris Garland won the Vi Brewer rose bowl for best exhibit in the flower class and the trophy for best in show overall.
Mr Phil Tyler won three prices for his quality vegetables.
