DORCHESTER Football Club fan and fundraiser Annie Greenslade is a woman on a mission.
Her goal is to boost the support the Magpies receive on their away games this season in the Dr Martens Premier Division.
As the organiser of the Town Travel project started by a group of fundraising supporters called the Avenue Forward Line, Annie's first target is to book a minimum of 35 people on the fan's coach for the game at Worcester City on Saturday, September 6.
"I've had several bookings after publicising the trip at our first home game against Hinckley, but still need more to make the trip viable," she explained.
"I shall be very disappointed if we can't get just 35 people to go to this game. In the past lots of people have asked why we never organise a coach going to away matches, well now we have so it is up to them to support it."
The Town Travel plan to run executive coaches to a total of eight games this season. Following the Worcester match they have earmarked Newport County (Nov 15), Crawley Town (Nov 22), Merthyr Tydfil (Jan 3), Welling United (Jan 10), Eastbourne Borough (Jan 31), Bath City (March 27) and Chippenham Town (April 12) as being within reasonable travelling distance.
"It would be nice to establish a group of regular travelling fans because I am sure the players would appreciate some vocal support away from home," she added.
Bookings for the Worcester trip will be taken up to 9pm on Saturday, August 30. The cost, which has been reduced thanks to sponsorship, is £12 for adults and £8 for juniors.
