THE undisputed king of rock'n'roll joins a host of other top-league musicians in Weymouth next weekend for the resort's annual Rock and Pop Festival.
The event's Elvis Look-a-Like competition, which takes place at 6.30pm on Saturday, September 6, sees scores of Elvis impersonators flocking to the Pavilion to take part.
Admission is free and the show makes a great evening's entertainment.
Other music stars coming to town include The Animals, who will be performing their hits, including House of the Rising Sun and We Got to Get Out of This Place.
They will be performing alongside Susan Maughan and The Tornadoes.
This top pop of the past triple bill is on Friday, September 5, at 7.30pm and tickets are £10.
Huge hits
The festival will end with a fantastic excuse to dust off your tartan trousers as Les McKeown's legendary Bay City Rollers take to the stage alongside fellow stars The Rubettes.
The two bands were huge in the 1970s and made their name with hits that included Shang-a-Lang, Bye Bye Baby and Sugar Baby Love.
They appear at Weymouth Pavilion on Sunday, September 7, at 7.30pm. Tickets for their show are £12.50.
Weymouth's tourism and entertainments manager, Simon King, says: "The Rock and Pop Festival has become a unique weekend of musical experience for the Pavilion and the town as a whole.
"Major stars from the rock and pop era and the electric atmosphere of the Elvis competition makes this a fabulous weekend of live wild entertainment that should not be missed."
