A KIND-HEARTED Bournemouth mum has offered to help the desperate 56-year-old woman at the centre of a fertility row.
Sharon Cave has offered to donate eggs in a bid to help mum-of-three and grandmother Priscilla Eatwell conceive for the fourth time.
The controversial decision has delighted Mrs Eatwell and her 69-year-old husband, Don, who run a care centre in Bournemouth.
The couple advertised for egg donors after deciding they want a second child together.
Priscilla was sterilised at the age of 24 after having two daughters, Sadie, now 34, and Carmen, 32, with her first husband but has since bitterly regretted the decision.
She and Don have one daughter, 13-year-old Sophie, who was conceived through IVF treatment.
Mrs Cave came forward after reading of the family's plight in the Daily Echo.
She said she sympathises with their predicament after having a hysterectomy three years ago which she now regrets.
"I had a hysterectomy but I am still producing eggs and would like to help" said Mrs Cave, 35.
"I made a mistake having the operation so I can understand what she is going through."
Mrs Cave has two children, Ashley, six, and five-year-old Samuel, but has no wish for more children herself.
"It must be very difficult for her" said Mrs Cave. "I just hope that I will be a suitable donor."
The Eatwells say the offer has brought their dream one step closer - but warned there was still some way to go.
Don, 69, said: "We don't want to count our chickens yet. It's fantastic that people have contacted us so quickly, but we still have to go through the whole process of meeting with them.
"The right person has to come to Italy with us, which might be difficult, but of course we will pay their expenses."
He urged women still thinking about donating their eggs to come forward, despite Mrs Cave's offer, because it was sometimes difficult to find a match.
"The right person might be the first one we meet, but we might have to search for a while," he said.
"When my wife first took out the small ad she never realised it would generate this response."
The Eatwells have had five egg donation offers from women dotted all around the country.
