Easy win keeps promotion alive
PARLEY 2ND XI 124 (3pts) lost to BRIDPORT 125-2 (20) by 8wkts
BRIDPORT'S young side posted another resounding win over a strengthened Parley seconds.
Parley won the toss and found it difficult to make any progress against opening bowlers Dave Backhouse and Adam Herring.
Then, 17-year-old leg spinner Ryan Hayter ripped through the side, taking six excellent wickets.
It was not much of a challenge for the talented Bridport team to reach 124.
Paul Tweddle (39 not out), Pete Moxom (23) and Matt Sherring (24no) all made short work of the total, reaching their target with overs to spare.
The battle for their second successive promotion looks like going to the wire, with Poole seconds still hot on Bridport's heels in third place with two games to play.
