Symene back to winning ways
MILBORNE PORT 140 (0) lost to SYMENE 141-8 (4) by 2 wkts
SYMENE scraped home with five balls to spare to keep alive their promotion hopes.
On a lively wicket, Colin Willcox (3-12) and Ryan Hayter (3-24) reduced the home side to 72-7 but Simon Crossley batted well for his 47 to get the home side to 140.
Crossley, helped by the deteriorating wicket, bowled eight overs for just five runs.
After a quickfire 31 from Mark Tozer at 80-2, Symene collapsed and looked in trouble on 95-6 until a crucial partnership of 39 between Nigel Toohill (22 not out) and Willcox (18) took them close.
Hayter smashed a four off the first ball of the final over to stop the nail-biting in the pavilion.
