Dorchester Reserve team boss Phil Simkin is pleading for a sponsor to stop goalscoring prospect Aaron Turner quitting the club for Dr Martens League Salisbury.
The former Wimborne Town youngster, who was the Magpies top second team goalgetter last season despite playing in only a dozen games, has been targeted by Whites assistant boss Tommy Killick.
"Aaron isn't on a contract here because we just don't have any more left in our budget," explained Simkin today. "Salisbury put in a notice of approach and spoke to him last night with an offer of money.
"The lad is adamant he doesn't want to leave us, but I know they will keep plaguing him and it's going to be very difficult for him to turn down the chance to earn a few bob from his football.
"I can appreciate his predictment but I am desperate to keep him here and I know Mark (Morris) is too because we both believe he has the potential to become a first team regular.
"He's only just beginning to get fully fit and his improvement over the six months he's been here has been phenomenal, just imagine what he could be like in another nine months."
Simkin has already persuaded Dorchester roofing contractor Shaun Hearn to sponsor defender James Wilson's contract this season and now he's hoping someone else will come forward to 'adopt' Turner.
Whatever happens Turner will line up for the Magpies second team at home to Sturminster Newton tomorrow and Simkin is keeping his fingers crossed it won't be his swansong.
"It would be a tragedy for the club if we let him go before tapping his full potential," he said. "Anyone who saw the way Hamworthy Rec defenders were bouncing off him on Tuesday night couldn't help but recognise his talent."
