BRIDPORT take on Screwfix Direct Premier Division title favourites Bideford in their first home match tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).
Manager Peter Conning has vowed to make changes after the Bees were walloped 4-1 at Exmouth on Tuesday night.
Conning was upset at the manner of the defeat and expects his team to be more switched on against the Robins.
"In terms of our approach I don't think the players will be as complacent or casual because they know we are playing one of the top sides.
"We had two good games against Bideford last season - the away match was probably our best performance although we lost 1-0 in the last minute," he said.
"I did not expect us to look so vulnerable as we did on Tuesday, we need to sure up at the back and there will be changes.
"Exmouth were a very good side and they will be in the top eight.
"We struggled last year against weaker teams and I think we have got enough about us to win those type of matches this season, but we are still a long way off the top sides in the division."
Darren Stewart comes back into the squad and may slot into the back three with Nigel Evans moving into midfield.
Conning, who has resisted the temptation of playing himself to get a better view of things from the sidelines, could also contemplate a run out.
"I do need to be playing and I will play at some stage, but I have been trying to be fair and see what others are capable of."
Bideford, who were league champions in 2001, have started brightly with two wins out of two.
Stalwart goalkeeper Mark Coombe retired during the close season so former Taunton gloveman Ryan Draper takes over.
Robins' boss Sean Joyce has also added former QPR and Fulham midfielder Robbie Hereira to the squad.
