IF you want a room with a view, take a look at this.

These are the views from a major new block of flats, appropriately named The Panoramic, almost finished at Bournemouth's Richmond Hill.

AFC Bournemouth players, along with their manager Sean O'Driscoll, were on the top floor of the block for a topping out ceremony. They signed a commemorative stone which was laid in place to complete the building.

The Bryant Homes development stands 73 metres above sea level at the top of Richmond Hill. Although the building is shorter than the Portman Building Society HQ next door, its position uphill means it outstrips its neighbour by several metres. Its roof is only slightly below that of the former Zurich building on the opposite side of the road.

The building will consist of 90 apartments but agent FPDSavills cannot yet say how much they will sell for. Bryant's regional project manager Ashley Beckett said: "The Panoramic is one of the most exciting developments Bournemouth has seen for some time, offering that touch of luxury with the convenience of town centre living.

"Also, the outstanding views of the surrounding area cannot fail to amaze the future home owners." The decision in 2000 to give the development the go-ahead was opposed by Portman and by Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce, who argued the site should be kept for business development.

This week's topping-out ceremony sealed a sponsorship deal between AFC Bournemouth and Bryant Homes, who recently bought the team equipment including training bibs, a physio table and medical kit.

Mr Beckett said: "This is a great kick-start to our involvement with AFC Bournemouth and we hope our sponsorship deal marks the beginning of a long-lasting partnership."
