POOLE Town's rise to the top of the Hampshire League Premier Division is exactly where they could stay for the rest of the season following another impressive net-busting victory, writes Andy Starmore.

The Dolphins opened their league account a week ago with a 6-0 win over Bishops Waltham Town and have now made it 11 goals in their first two matches after putting five past Locks Heath at Tatnum Farm.

Karim Banssouada rattled home a first half penalty in what was a slightly below par first 45 minutes, but normal service seemed to be restored after the break as the siege on the Locks Heath goal became relentless.

The Dolphins doubled their lead after a good build up and an excellent cross from Andy Gater found Lee Cornick, who finished with confidence.

Cornick found the net again, before Nick Miles added the fourth.

Substitute Matty Morris sprung from the bench to fire home number five, leaving manager Paul Morrell delighted with the final outcome.

"I was disappointed with the first half, but we played much better after the break, and we ended up scoring five goals," said Morrell.

Poole: Potter, Gater, Woodward, Kemp, Wood, Mooney (Morris 70), White, Reeks (Miles 70), L Manning. Unused subs: P Manning, Muir, Burt.

Poole Town travel to Ringwood Town this afternoon (kick off 3pm) in another league fixture.

On Saturday Ring-wood had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw at Liss.

Poole's squad for today's match will be as above plus Crowe.

In the First Division, Verwood Town suffered a 2-0 reverse at Micheldever.
