SWEDISH sensation Antonio Lindback could well make his eagerly awaited second Pirates appearance against Team Great Britain next week,
The exciting 18-year-old rider scorched to a 19 paid 21-point maximum on his Poole Meridian Lifts debut against Exeter in the British League Cup last month. That equalled the legendary Craig Boyce's all-time record points haul in one meeting for Pirates.
And it really got the juices flowing among the Wimborne Road faithful who have been calling for the Poole promoters to bring Lindback back into their team for another meeting ever since then.
Pirates chiefs Matt Ford and Mike Golding have asked the young Swede if he would like to put on the skull and crossbones race jacket again.
And they hope he will line up for Poole against Team GB on Wednesday, September 3, in an international challenge match at Wimborne Road.
Lindback, through his manager Mats Olsson, is expected to contact Golding later today to say whether he is able to ride for Pirates.
Ford said: "We hope Antonio will be able to make it. We have invited him back because we would like to give Antonio as many rides as we can at Poole this year. It would be a-gainst opposition harder than in most Elite League teams.
"If he can score points against the GB boys we would know he would be able to ride in Elite League speedway on a regular basis."
Neil Middleditch will team manage the GB outfit who will choose from Scott Nicholls, David Norris, Gary Havelock, Dean Barker, Joe Screen, Carl Stonehewer, Chris Harris and Lee Richardson.
Lindback would feature at reserve for Poole alongside confirmed riders Leigh Ad-ams, Bjarne Pedersen, David Ruud, Tony Rickardsson, Krz-ysztof Kasprzak and one other.
Pirates heat leader Lukas Dryml, meanwhile, has had an operation to screw the broken bone in his ankle in the Czech Republic. It is hoped he will only be sidelined from action for another three weeks.
