NOW you see it, soon you won't. That's the fear of one concerned Poole couple who are fighting to save their sea view.

Lisa and Barry Greenwood currently enjoy stunning views over Poole Harbour from the garden of their home in Blake Hill Crescent, Lilliput.

But tomorrow councillors will decide whether the bungalow in front of their home can be replaced by two houses - one three storeys tall and the other four storeys.

It is a worrying prospect for the Greenwoods, who fear they will lose their privacy as well as having their treasured view impaired.

The proposed houses, put forward by Seven Develop-ments, would have windows at the back and Lisa and local dentist Barry are concerned about being overlooked.

They have collected 70 signatures on a petition and the Borough of Poole has received a further 23 letters of objection.

Mrs Greenwood said: "This house and view is everything we have ever wanted and we moved here thinking this would be our last ever move.

"But this has devastated us. We have spent every waking moment poring over Poole's local plan and their planning policies and every aspect of their application seems wrong to us."

Loss of a view is not a planning issue but loss of privacy is and Sally Carpenter, chair of the Dorset Lake Residents Association, said: "This sort of thing is happening all the time."

"You pay a premium for a property with a view and then a developer comes along and you can lose your view and privacy overnight."

Eddie Mitchell, managing director of Seven Develop-ments, said: "I'll leave it to the professional people in the council to determine whether or not planning permission should be granted. To us, it's perfectly acceptable to build two houses on that site and the council has spent a lot of time looking at it and considering all the issues."
