Dorchester UNITED 4 STURMINSTER NEWTON 1 DOUBLE strikes from Jamie Yates and Martin Hillier saw freescoring United through to their second win in four days at Sandringham Sports Centre last night.

Former Magpies striker Yates took just three minutes to open his account in the home side's whirlwind start when he sprinted through to intercept a weak back header and confidently lobbed the ball over the keeper and into the net.

Martin Hillier had a strong claim for a penalty turned down when he was clean through minutes later but he put that disappointment behind him to get the second in the 16th minute.

United let shell-shocked Sturminster back in the game and after Dan Claxton had pulled off a superb save to deny Etherington they cut the lead a minute before the break.

Then the visitors nearly levelled in the dying seconds of the half when Etherington clipped the ball past Claxton in a one-on-one and it bounced inches wide of the far upright.

Andy Cleal sent a close range chance spinning over the bar as United attacked down the slope in the second half and after Regan Churchill was inches away from a third, Yates got his second. Latching on to Hillier's through ball, he swept the ball sweetly past Young into the far corner.

Robbie Taylor's inch-perfect cross was converted with a thumping header from Martin Hillier to complete the scoring after 75 minutes.

Dorchester United: Claxton, Tasker (J Hillier 57mins), Buddin, Voss, Kemp, Cleal, Beale (S Churchill 57mins), R Churchill, Taylor, Yates, M Hillier. Sub not used Davis.

BRIDPORT RES 2 HAMWORTHY UNITED 4

TWO second half goals from Bees' Steve Smith inside five minutes failed to halt Dorset Premier League champions Hamworthy United at St Mary's Field last night.

The side strongly tipped to retain their title led 2-0 at half-time and made it 3-0 soon after the re-start.

Smith gave the Bees a glimmer of hope with his goals in the 74th and 79th minutes but United made the points secure with a fourth with five minutes remaining.
