ERRORS in the Royal Manor School's GCSE information and communication technology results caused a lot of disappointment and upset among pupils and staff who were well aware that their students were capable of achieving good results.
After two appeals made by the school, it was discovered that a number of serious administrative and marking errors had been made by the examining board and these have now been rectified and show that the staff's confidence in their pupils was fully justified.
The correct results show 72 per cent of the candidates gained A*- C grades and this puts the school 15 per cent above the national average and 23 per cent above the average for the rest of Dorset in this year's GCSE exams.
