A NEW website giving people in Dorset and Somerset better access to information about local health services goes live on Monday (March 27).

The site, www.dorsetsomerset.nhs.uk, has been developed following last year's merger of the two counties' health authorities.

It contains quick electronic links to all NHS and social care organisations, access to general information about health and support services, and an on-line feedback form.

Neville Roberts, assistant director of Dorset and Somerset Strategic Health Authority, said: "The new site has been designed in-house with ease of use in mind. People can use it to find a GP or hospital service by clicking on a map of where they live or using a simple drop down menu.

"Over the next three months, we will be carefully evaluating its use. We will try to incorporate comments and suggestions into future development of the site and make further improvements if they are needed."
