Dorchester United's promising start to life back in the Dorset Premier League faces the
ultimate test tomorrow when they travel to the County Ground to tackle the unbeaten reigning champions Hamworthy United.
The county town side have scored 12 goals in three games, beating Blandford and Sturminster Newton and only losing out to a late Westlands Sports winner in a nine-goal thriller.
But manager Kevin Hillier knows there are tougher tests to come - beginning at Hamworthy tomorrow.
"With all due respect to sides like Blandford and Sturminster Newton, they are not in the same class as Hamworthy," he said. "While we are delighted with the start we have made, tomorrow we should be able to judge just how far we have come."
"But as I said before we started the season, we will not be over-awed by anyone and we will get our heads down and give them a good game.
"We have a lot of players with experience of this level and in Jamie Yates and Martin Hillier we have a couple of strikers who will upset any defence in the division."
Hillier feels his squad needs a strong central defender to win high balls into the area - a job that is likely to go tomorrow to former Bridport skipper Richard Drake who missed the mid-week victory over Sturminster Newton when he was on a trip to Alton Towers with his family.
"Richard did well in the middle of the defence in the previous matches and his experience will come in very useful at Hamworthy," he added.
Dorchester United: Claxton, Tasker, Buddin, Voss, Drake, Kemp, Cleal, Beale, R Churchill, Taylor, Yates, M Hillier, J Hillier, S Churchill, Davis.
