WAREHAM civic leaders have launched a £9,000 appeal to create a permanent Golden Jubilee memorial on the town's South Bridge.
The plan is to place six decorative three-quarter size lamps - three on either side of the bridge to enhance the historic entrance to the market town.
Cllr Myrna Gomes-Maria said: "Judging from the support I'm getting, I strongly believe this is achievable and will be a great asset to our town."
