TWO New Forest routes are the best of the bunch when it comes to walking and riding in Britain.
The Forest has scooped double honours in the Forestry Commission's annual "top ten" guide to leisure trails around the country.
Experts plumped for Radnor Trail walk, beginning at the Bolderwood car park off the A35, and the Brockenhurst Loop cycle trail as recommended routes for people to improve their fitness by exercising in the countryside.
They hope the recognition will encourage more people to get out into the great outdoors.
Commission recreation ranger Simon West said: "Not only can you enjoy the fresh air, you can take in some fabulous scenery.
"The Brockenhurst Loop follows many different landscapes in the New Forest, passing through ancient woodlands, shady lawns and sweeping heathlands.
"It is a 20-mile route can be done by anyone and is very popular with families."
"The Radnor Trail is a two-hour walk which features some spectacular scenery and many different species of wildlife, plus a wild deer viewing platform."
