A PAEDOPHILE'S 12-month jail sentence for sexually abusing four boys has been slammed by a victim.
Frederick David Harris, 57, lured boys aged eight to 15 to his West London house from 1975 to 1985, where he sexually assaulted them.
Harris, who changed his name to Jackson by deed poll, admitted two counts of indecency with a child and three counts of indecent assault. He was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court to 12 months for each of the five counts, to run concurrently.
In July last year Harris was tracked down and beaten up in his former home at Child Okeford, north Dorset, by one of his victims. The victim gave himself up and told police of the abuse he suffered at Harris's hands.
Yesterday Mark Heath, aged eight when he was abused by Harris, waived his anonymity to speak out.
Speaking after the sentencing Mr Heath, from Staines, said: "He destroyed my life and got 12 months. I've been having treatment because of what he did to me. That's a good 15 years of psychologists. My marriage went down the pan. It destroyed my life."
Passing sentence Judge Colgan said: "Although (the offences) are old, some of your victims are suffering the after-effects of your disgusting behaviour.
"Were I passing sentence nearer the times of the offences the sentences would be much longer."
See tomorrow's Daily Echo when Mr Heath speaks exclusively about the devastating effect Harris's offences have had on his life.
