Imagine your entire existence was suddenly exposed as a carefully constructed fiction - your family and friends turned out to be actors, your memories of childhood were not your own, and you were an unwitting pawn in an elaborate game you didn't realise you were playing.
Who would you trust? and, more importantly, would you be able to tell fantasy from reality?
In Vincenzo Natali's tightly constructed and breathtakingly stylish cyberthriller, one man is faced with this very dilemma - trapped knee-deep in a quagmire where charades become truths and people's motives are shrouded in doubt.
Unemployed accountant Morgan Sullivan (Northam) applies for a job at multinational corporation Digicorp.
Soon, Morgan finds himself embroiled in the world of espionage, recording the conversations of rival businesses for his ruthless boss Finster (Bennett).
However, Morgan's world falls apart when he meets a seemingly friendly agent, Calloway (Webber) and mysterious femme fatale Rita (Liu), who claim he is the victim of a brainwashing conspiracy.
