THE FIRST offering of drama from the autumn season at Dorchester Arts Centre takes place next Wednesday when The Lions Part stages Lilies on the Land, a tale of the work and experiences of the Land Girls during the Second World War.
Drawn from the recollections of women who worked the land while their men were away fighting, Lilies on the Land has already been staged to great acclaim in other Dorset venues.
The performance on Wednesday, September 10, is in the town's Corn Exchange at 8pm and tickets are £9 plus concessions.
The arts centre's season continues on Saturday, September 13, with a performance by Dorset Jazz Collective.
The show will include original compositions by some of the region's top jazz musicians including Rob Koral, Zoe Schwartz, Sue Hawker and Rodney Teague.
The concert is at 9pm and tickets are £7.50 plus concessions.
Call the arts centre on 01305 266926 to book.
