FORMER Beaminster School student John Warren has won his way onto the international rugby stage.
The 18-year-old, now studying at Yeovil, has represented England Colleges against both Wales and Scotland.
It all started for him in his second year of A-Levels when he was asked to go to the Somerset trials, where he was selected.
He then got selected to represent the south west when he was watched playing for the county.
John, who has stepped up his commitment to rugby in the past year, was unsuccessful in the first round of England Colleges trials, but he got his reward when the main prop got injured, and he was called up.
After being picked as a reserve to play Scotland at Murrayfield in a game England lost, he was then selected to play against Wales, in a match they had to win in order to win the cup, which they successfully did.
