WHITCHURCH United will be glad to see the back of Fawcetts Field for another season, after they suffered a massive 7-0 defeat against Lymington and New Milton, writes Andy Starmore.
The Linnets recorded a whopping 10-0 win over Whitchurch last season, and only came three goals short of repeating the act this time around.
A goal each for Patrick James and Kevin James separated the two sides at the interval, before the avalanche of goals materialised in the second period. Ben Thomson scored a solo goal, before 17 year old Peter Smith ran past five players with a dribbling run and finished with finesse to score the pick of the bunch for 4-0.
The visitors were then reduced to ten men, and Ian Robinson's men took full advantage, with Thomson scoring again, Kevin Reacord grabbing his first goal for the club and Patrick James making it seven. Patrick James came within a whisker of completing a hat-trick, but saw his late effort hit the post.

Brockenhurst suffered another Wessex League defeat, this time in a 3-0 loss against Hamble at Grigg Lane. But it wasn't all doom and gloom for the Badgers, whose performance was much brighter than their display last Tuesday when they were thumped 8-0 at Wimborne.
Brock had seven teenagers on show, including 16 year old debutant Kyle Juryess, who enjoyed an excellent first time out

Christchurch were left to rue missed chances in a game they should have at
least gained a point from, as they tumbled to a 2-1 against Cowes Sports at Hurn Bridge.
