BOURNEMOUTH Poppies manager Keith Williams heaped huge praise on his depleted squad, as they progressed to the next round of the FA Vase with a 2-1 win in a tricky trip to Bridgewater, writes Andy Starmore.
And Williams paid a particular compliment to striker Gary Clark, who played 55 minutes of the match carrying a calf injury.
"Clark would walk through brick walls for the team, and I can't praise him highly enough," said Williams.
"He shouldn't really have played, but he knew the situation with players out. All the lads know how important the Vase is to the club and it's nice to get through this round."
Poppies had to come from behind when the hosts took the lead on the hour.
Goals from Paul Honeybun and Matt Town turned the game in their favour though, setting up a home tie with Paulton Rovers in the next round on September 20.
Poppies: Scriven, Till, Lucas (Antel 85), Coleman, Philpott, Owen, Dancer, Clark (Staples 55), Honeybun, Glenister, Town.
