UNITED'S Stuart Kemp headed the spectacular second half own goal that denied his side their first away win in the Dorset Premier League.

Kemp tried to backhead to goalkeeper Dan Claxton who was moving off his line to collect and the ball sailed past him into the net.

"I told Stuart if he can find the net with headers like that I'll push him up front next week," joked manager Kevin Hillier who could have used that kind of finishing at the other end.

"We murdered them first half and if they had been three or four down by the interval they couldn't have complained," he added.

"Jamie Yates and Martin Hillier both had several good chances but either missed the target or had their shots well saved by the keeper."

United made all the running in the first half and after 15 minutes their pressure paid off when a cross from Steve Churchill on the right was deflected by Martin Hillier to Andy Cleal on the edge of the penalty area and he rammed home a terrific shot from 20 yards.

Although most of the pressure came from United, the home team had a couple of chances which resulted in Claxton having to bring off a couple of excellent saves.

Sports came out in the second half with all guns blazing and after United were rocked by Kemp's own goal in the 57th minute they remained on top for most of the second half.

But they could not find a way through a resolute defence marshalled by Richard Drake and Steve Budden.

In the last ten minutes, United had a couple of opportunities to win the match and a good claim for a penalty turned down.

"It was probably the best we have played - but if you don't take your chances you will pay for it in the end," said Hillier.
