NEW KID on the block George Buckingham has taken Mudeford from fishing nets to internet by launching his own village website.
Highcliffe School student George, 14, who moved to Mudeford from London barely a year ago, designed the website as a way of finding out more about his new home area.
The site, www.mudefordvillage.co.uk, which has already had 500 hits since its launch, contains details of local accommodation, places of interest and restaurants in the area for visitors and news, a calendar of events and useful information.
There is even a pictorial virtual tour of Mudeford Quay and flashback to the excitement of the lifeboat fun day and raft race at the beginning of August.
The interactive site also offers a message board and links to other on-line information and entertainment.
George said: "It took quite a while to put the site up and I am hoping that people will start to use it more and more and provide extra information for it."
Hoping to make a career in the field of computers and information technology,
George is also a promising golfer and when not pushing a computer mouse he can be found swinging a club on the links at Barton-on-Sea.
