DANNY O'Hagan will return to the scene of his 70-second, Millennium Year FA Cup KO goal at the Wessex Stadium on Saturday.
The big striker is set to line up for Dorchester against the Terras again when the local rivals clash in the Two Counties Cup - although he and Magpies manager Mark Morris won't be discussing terms for a permanent move back to the Avenue Stadium until after Saturday's match.
However his impending return has signalled the end of a brief stay at Dorchester for 19-year-old former AFC Bournemouth and Bolton Wanderers trainee Matt Tubbs who has been released after two months with the Magpies on a non-contract basis.
"It's a shame I have had to let Matt go because I think he is a very talented player who will get better in the years to come and could go on to big things in the game," said Morris.
"But my brief is to finish in the top 14 in the league this season and I can't afford to wait. I need players who can do it for me now and specifically someone in attack who can head the ball.
"Matt was excellent in the first three or four games, but then he got a bit of a
roughing up and we didn't quite see the best of him.
"I believe he is now going to Salisbury where he played a friendly or two before we signed him and I wish him well.
"It would not surprise me if he starts scoring freely for them and, if he does, I suppose people will ask why I let him go. But management is all about making decisions, often tough ones.
"I am not saying O'Hagan is better than Tubbs because they are totally different players. I have just decided that at the moment we need what Danny can give us and because I have to work to a budget I have had to let someone go."
Morris said his plans to loan a couple of Second Division Brentford's reserves had been "put on hold".
"That option is just a phone call away because they are still available to me," said Morris. "But at the moment I am in no rush to do it because I want to give lads like Carl Poore and Simon Radcliffe, who came in and did a terrific job at Moor Green on Saturday, the chance to get some games."
